A well-loved iron pan can last a lifetime, but over time, the surface can lose its natural non-stick finish, become sticky, or even start to rust. Hestia & Co.’s cookware seasoning service is designed to restore and protect your iron cookware so you can keep cooking with confidence for years to come.
Whether your pan needs a fresh layer of oil seasoning or a more thorough polish and re-seasoning treatment, our team can help bring it back to a clean, smooth, ready-to-use finish.
What Is Cookware Seasoning?
Seasoning is the process of applying oil to iron cookware and heating it so the oil bonds to the surface. This creates a natural protective layer that helps resist rust, improves non-stick performance, and makes the pan easier to clean after cooking.
Over time, seasoning can wear down through regular use, washing, acidic ingredients, or poor storage. When that happens, your pan may start to look dull, patchy, rusty, or sticky. A professional seasoning treatment helps refresh the surface and extend the life of your cookware.
Our Seasoning & Polishing Services
We offer different treatment options depending on the condition of your pan and the level of restoration required.
Oil Seasoning
Oil seasoning is ideal for pans that are generally in good condition but need a fresh protective layer. This treatment helps rebuild the cooking surface and improve everyday performance.
Polishing + Oil Seasoning
Polishing and oil seasoning are recommended for cookware with rust, stubborn residue, uneven seasoning, or a rough surface. We polish the surface first, then apply oil seasoning to help restore a smoother, cleaner finish.
You can choose between single-side and double-side treatment depending on your cookware needs. Single-side treatment is suitable when only the cooking surface needs attention, while double-side treatment is best when both sides require cleaning, polishing, or seasoning.
Service Pricing
All prices include tax.
| Treatment | Frypans under 30 cm | Frypans over 30 cm or woks |
|---|---|---|
| Single-side oil seasoning | $15 | $20 |
| Double-sided oil seasoning | $20 | $30 |
| Single-side polishing + oil seasoning | $30 | $40 |
| Double-sided polishing + oil seasoning | $40 | $60 |
Which Treatment Should You Choose?
If your pan is only looking a little dry, dull, or patchy, oil seasoning may be enough to refresh the surface.
If your pan has visible rust, heavy build-up, sticky residue, or an uneven cooking surface, polishing plus oil seasoning is the better option. This gives the pan a deeper clean before the seasoning layer is applied.
For woks and larger pans over 30 cm, please choose from the over 30 cm or wok pricing.
How the Service Works
Drop off your iron pan or wok at our store during trading hours.
Our team will assess the cookware and carry out the selected treatment, including oil seasoning or polishing, as required.
Your cookware will usually be ready for pick-up in about one week.
Once collected, your pan will be ready to use. To maintain the finish, clean it gently after cooking, dry it thoroughly, and apply a light layer of oil before storing.
